Bobby and Mark Hilzen
were both featured in the Glen Rock Gazette Newspaper in August
after their outstanding performances at the Eastern Zone Long
Course Championships.
Bobby’s performance included five 1st
Place finishes: 200 Fly (2:17.80), 400 IM (4:54.51), 400 Free
(4:16.39), 800 Free (8:46.18), and 1500 Free (16:44.42). His
times include 4 Super Sectional Cuts (400 Free, 800 Free, 1500
Free, and 400 IM). The outstanding performance won him the
High Point award for 13-14 Boys at the Zone Championships.
Bobby’s time in the 800 Free ranks him 14th
in the Nation amongst 14 year old boys this past summer and his
time in the 1500 Free ranks him 15th in the 1500 Free
(click here for National Age Group
Ranking). He is also very close to Jr. National
qualifying time standards.
Mark Hilzen (age 9) qualified for the meet in
both the 50 and 100 meter butterfly in the 10/under age
group. He raced to a personal best in the 100 meter fly
(1:24.96) and earned a spot on the 400 Medley relay. Mark
also anchored the 200 Free relay for the 10/under age group.
